The best time to buy your special occasion gown (i.e. Prom, Graduation Ball, Special Birthday etc.) can vary depending on several factors, including your personal preferences, budget, and the timing of your event.
Look when it's right for you!!
We often get asked "When should I start looking/buying my dress?" And the simple answer is, "When it's right for you!!"
We have put together a few points to help you make a more informed decision, as shopping for a special dress is slightly different from shopping off the rack in your regular boutiques.
Here are our suggetions:
OPTION #1 - Guide to Dress Shopping 6-8 months before your event
If you want a wide variety of options and the latest styles, consider starting your search several months before your event.
This allows you to explore different boutiques, try on dresses, and take advantage the largest range of dresses. At ENVY Gowns we will not sell the same style of dress to the same school prom, graduation ball, pageant etc. As time goes on your choices may be limited. Shopping early gives you maximum benefit of our payment plans, time for special orders and alterations.
OPTION #2 - Guide to Dress Shopping 3-5 moths before your event
This is a good time to make your purchase if you want to ensure you have a good selection but don’t want to shop too early. You should still be able to make special orders and have your alterations carried out with plenty of time to spare.
"Shopping for a special occassion gown should be an enjoyable experience, trust us to make it as stress free as possible ." – Gail at ENVY Gowns
OPTION #3 - Guide to Dress Shopping 1-2 months before your event
We would suggest not waiting too late as choices will become more limited and alterations will become more difficult.
OPTION #4 - Guide to Dress Shopping 1-2 weeks before your event
If you’re comfortable taking a risk and have a flexible budget, you may find discounted dresses or sales during the final weeks leading up to prom. However, this carries the risk of limited options, especially if you have a specific style in mind.
AND FINALLY ...
Remember that popular styles may sell out quickly, so it’s advisable to start your search early if you have a particular dress in mind. Additionally, keep in mind any other influencing factors e.g.
Does your event have a theme?
Is it a black tie event?
Does your event have resitrictions on what you can wear? i.e. Shoulders Covered
Planning your special night can be a wonderful experience filled with anticipation and excitement. By setting a budget, choosing the perfect outfit, coordinating with friends, and planning safe and enjoyable activities, you can create a night to remember.
Embrace your special evening, and don’t forget to take lots of photos to preserve these cherished memories for a lifetime.
