TERMS & CONDITIONS
Acceptance of Terms & Conditions
By signing this document, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to Envy Gowns' Terms & Conditions of Sale. These terms apply to all purchases made from Envy Gowns and do not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Types of Purchases
Envy Gowns offers two types of dress purchases: "Off The Rail" and "On Order". Off The Rail refers to dresses purchased directly from our existing in-store stock, including sale and sample gowns. On Order refers to dresses ordered from our suppliers specifically for a customer in their selected designer, style, colour and standard manufacturer size.
Inspection of Goods
Customers are encouraged to inspect and try on their chosen dress before completing an Off The Rail purchase. For dresses purchased On Order, customers will be invited to attend an Order Pick Up appointment once their dress arrives in store. During this appointment, our team will assist with checking the dress, confirming the fit and identifying any alterations that may be required. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Off The Rail, Sale & Sample Dresses
All Off The Rail dresses, including sale and sample gowns, are sold in their existing condition. As these dresses may have been tried on or displayed in store, minor signs of wear or imperfections may be present. We make every effort to highlight any known imperfections before purchase. By proceeding with the sale, customers acknowledge and accept any specific imperfections clearly disclosed at the time of purchase. Refunds or exchanges are not offered for a change of mind or for imperfections specifically disclosed and accepted before purchase. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights in relation to other faults or goods that do not conform to the contract.
Returns & Exchanges
For purchases made in store, Envy Gowns does not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, unless otherwise agreed at our discretion. Any discretionary exchange or store credit is subject to our approval. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Purchases made online or at a distance may be subject to additional statutory cancellation rights.
Special Orders, Cancellations & Refunds
Dresses ordered specifically for customers in standard manufacturer sizes and colours are considered special orders. For purchases made in store, once an order has been confirmed and placed with our supplier, cancellations, refunds or exchanges due to a change of mind are not accepted unless otherwise agreed by Envy Gowns. Any discretionary changes to an order are subject to supplier approval and availability. This policy does not affect your statutory consumer rights, including where goods are faulty, incorrectly supplied or not as described. Any applicable cancellation rights for purchases made online or at a distance remain unaffected.
Payment Plans
Envy Gowns offers payment plans of 3 or 6 months to help customers spread the cost of their purchase. For Off The Rail dresses, a minimum initial deposit of £150 is required to reserve and remove the dress from sale. The dress will be held securely in store by Envy Gowns until the outstanding balance has been paid in full. Subsequent payments must be made on the 1st of each month unless otherwise agreed in advance. All outstanding balances must be paid in full and cleared before the dress can be released for collection or alterations. Customers experiencing difficulty meeting their agreed payment schedule should contact Envy Gowns as soon as possible to discuss their options. Any cancellation or non-payment will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law.
On Order Purchases & Payments
For dresses ordered specifically from our suppliers, a minimum deposit of 50% of the total purchase price is required at the time of ordering. The remaining balance must be paid in full before the dress can be collected or released for alterations. Once your dress arrives in store, you will be notified and required to arrange an Order Pick Up appointment within 4 weeks of notification, in accordance with our Order Collection & Size Exchanges policy. Cancellations and refunds for change of mind are not accepted for orders placed in store once confirmed with our supplier, unless otherwise agreed by Envy Gowns. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Ownership & Responsibility
All dresses remain the property of Envy Gowns until payment has been received in full and cleared. Dresses purchased through a payment plan will be reserved and securely held in store until the outstanding balance has been settled. Ownership transfers to the customer once full payment has been made. Responsibility for the care and safekeeping of the dress remains with Envy Gowns while the dress is held in store and transfers to the customer upon collection. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Event Cancellation or Postponement
Envy Gowns cannot accept responsibility for the cancellation, postponement or rearrangement of a customer's event. Dresses purchased for a specific occasion cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged solely because the event has been cancelled, postponed or the customer no longer requires the dress. Any exceptions will be considered at the discretion of Envy Gowns and in accordance with applicable consumer law. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Alterations
Alterations are not included in the purchase price of any dress unless expressly agreed in writing. As dresses are supplied in standard manufacturer sizes, alterations may be necessary to achieve the customer's desired fit. Customers are responsible for arranging and paying for any alterations required. Envy Gowns may recommend independent seamstresses; however, unless alterations are arranged or supplied by Envy Gowns as part of the customer's contract, any agreement for alteration services is made directly between the customer and the independent seamstress. Envy Gowns is not responsible for errors or damage caused solely by independently contracted alteration services. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Sizing & Fit
Our experienced team will recommend an appropriate dress size based on the customer's measurements, the individual designer's size guide and, where possible, the fit of sample dresses. As sizing and fit can vary between designers and styles, we cannot guarantee that a standard manufacturer size will provide a perfect fit without alterations. Customers should be aware that changes in body measurements between the date of ordering and collection may affect the fit of their dress. Any alterations required to achieve the desired fit are not included in the purchase price. Where a change of size is requested due to changes in the customer's measurements or personal fit preferences, any exchange will be subject to supplier approval and availability. This does not affect the customer's statutory consumer rights.
Order Collection & Size Exchanges
Customers must book and attend their Order Pick Up appointment within 4 weeks of being notified that their dress has arrived in store. This appointment allows our team to check the fit, identify any sizing concerns and advise on alterations where required. Due to supplier return deadlines, requests for discretionary size exchanges made after this period may not be accommodated. All discretionary size exchanges are subject to supplier approval and availability. This does not affect statutory consumer rights, including where an incorrect size has been supplied or goods do not conform to the contract.
Missed Payments & Uncollected Orders
Customers purchasing a dress through a payment plan are responsible for making payments in accordance with their agreed schedule. If a payment is missed, Envy Gowns will contact the customer to request payment or discuss alternative arrangements. Where payments remain outstanding and no alternative arrangement has been agreed, Envy Gowns may issue a formal written notice providing a reasonable opportunity to resolve the outstanding balance before considering cancellation of the agreement. Any cancellation, refund or retention of payments will be assessed fairly, taking into account the circumstances and any reasonable losses incurred by Envy Gowns. Dresses will not be released for collection until payment has been received in full. Where a fully paid dress remains uncollected, Envy Gowns will make reasonable attempts to contact the customer and arrange collection before considering any further action. Nothing in this policy affects the customer's statutory consumer rights.
Estimated Delivery Times
Delivery times for On Order dresses are based on estimates provided by our suppliers and will be discussed with customers at the time of purchase. While Envy Gowns makes every effort to ensure dresses arrive within the agreed timeframe, delays may occasionally occur. Customers will be informed of any significant delays as soon as reasonably possible. Any agreed delivery deadline, including where delivery by a particular date is essential, will be honoured in accordance with applicable consumer law. This does not affect your statutory rights where delivery is delayed.
Colour, Fabric & Design Variations
Dresses are manufactured by independent designers and suppliers. Minor variations in colour, fabric texture, embellishments and finishing may occur between samples, production batches and individual dresses. Lighting, photography and screen settings may also affect how colours appear. Envy Gowns will make reasonable efforts to ensure the dress supplied corresponds with the style, colour and specifications agreed at the time of purchase. This does not affect your statutory rights where goods do not match their description or sample.
Changes in Customer Measurements
Our team will recommend an appropriate dress size based on measurements, designer size guides and available samples at the time of ordering. Customers should be aware that changes in body measurements between ordering and collection may affect the fit of their dress. Where alterations or an alternative size are required solely due to changes in the customer's measurements, any associated costs will be the customer's responsibility. Alternative sizes are subject to supplier availability and approval. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Faulty or Incorrect Goods
Customers are encouraged to notify Envy Gowns as soon as reasonably possible if they believe their dress is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or does not match the agreed description. Our team will review the concern and arrange an appropriate resolution in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Customers' statutory rights to a repair, replacement, refund or other applicable remedy are not restricted by this policy.
Customer Contact Information
Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact information at the time of purchase and notifying Envy Gowns of any changes to their telephone number, email address or other relevant details. Envy Gowns will use the contact information provided to communicate important updates regarding orders, payments and collection appointments.
Dress Care & Storage
Once a dress has been collected, customers are responsible for its appropriate care, handling and storage. We recommend following any care instructions provided by the designer and storing dresses in a clean, dry and suitable environment. Envy Gowns cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by improper handling, storage, cleaning or use after collection. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
