Welcome to our very first blog!!
My name is Gail and I am the Owner/Director of Envy Gowns. I am 29 years old and love running my own business. I left school in 6th year with no idea about what I actually wated to do as a career but I definitely knew I didn't want to go on to further eduction.
My mum started her business in 2009 which was called Vivacious Me and in 2012 I started working for my mum. From there we have worked together to build and grow the business to what it is today and we are very proud of what we have achieved. We have had name changes, 5 store refurbs, numerous stock line changes and many family and friends putting in shifts to help us out. Running a successful business doesn't just happen overnight and it takes time to learn where your place in the market is.
The main reason we have managed to stay in business, especially in the difficult times, is because we love our job. As with most jobs it can be a real challenge but it is also extremely rewarding!! To be able to solve the puzzle for young girls looking for their prom dress gives us so much joy and to be able to take stress away from parents, it all makes it worth while.
Our blogs will be written by myelf, Carol and other special contributors. We can't wait to share the knowledge and tips we have learned over the last 15 years in business. Please feel free to comment if there is a topic you'd like us to cover.
